The Bay To Ocean Writers Conference is a one-day nonprofit  conference that has attracted and motivated more than 2,000 writers over its history. Attendees come from surrounding states and the District of Columbia as well as throughout the Chesapeake Bay and Delmarva region. The conference is sponsored by the Eastern Shore Writers Association, a nonprofit organization of writers from across the tristate Delmarva Peninsula. Registration opens Oct. 1, 2013.
 
Our mission is to inform, encourage, and inspire writers of all levels, from beginners to published authors. We strive to share helpful knowledge and experiences among writers about every facet of writing. Watch some 2012 BTO Conference speakers in this short  video. 
 
 
The BTO conference features workshops, presentations, and panel discussions on a wide variety of topics pertaining to the craft of writing, publishing, marketing, the Internet, and the intricacies of particular genres. It is an opportunity to meet with many writing peers in the region. Speakers include accomplished authors, poets, film writers, writing instructors, editors, and publishers.
 
BTO also offers one-on-one manuscript reviews with experienced writing instructors and editors for registered attendees for a fee. See our Manuscript page for details.

WSDL 90.7, October 25, 2013  Haunted Tour Guide and Writer Mindie Burgoyne talks with Harold Wilson about “Ghosts in Literature” Friday, October 25, 2013 on Delmarva Public Radio’s “Delmarva Today: Writer’s Edition” at 9:00 a.m. on WSDL 90.7.

 

Having recently crafted a series of Ghost Walks in small, historic towns on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Mindie takes guests on journeys that include legendary haunted places and lesser known sites associated with mystical or paranormal activity. She has spent years researching haunted sites in Maryland and her research has been used by  many other authors and media professionals including the National Geographic Television Network.

 

By day Mindie works for the State of Maryland assisting rural businesses and local governments with economic development issues. In her spare time, she writes books, operates four blog sites, writes for magazines and online publications, and runs a successful speaking and training platform on “Harnessing the Power of Social Media in Business. Mindie has lived on Maryland’s rural Eastern Shore for seven years.
